Reunel Product Questions

We at Reunel take pride in our work and every winch bumper at Reunel Manufacturing is hand fabricated using only US steel. Reunel does not outsource to overseas fabrication plants: Every Reunel Extreme Heavy Duty bumper is made in the USA. So we understand that when you are purchasing a Reunel heavy duty winch bumper for your truck, you are making some decisions that is more than just "how much is this bumper going to cost me?" Take some time to read our FAQs section and hopefully this information will help you make a better informed decision on purchasing a Reunel heavy duty bumper for your truck or SUV.

Reunel FAQs

  1. How strong are Reunel Winch bumpers? Reunel bumpers are manufactured from extremely strong premium US steel. The frame mounting system is 1/2" thick steel and the interior of the bumpers is 1/4" thick steel. We use solid steel shafting for the headlight guards.
  2. Will the airbags still work? The airbag sensors are located in the steering column. The strength of the Reunel bumper does require a higher rate of speed collision before deployment; however, the air bag system will still deploy in extreme collisions. The bumper is capable of absorbing a great deal of energy.
  3. How does the shape vary from factory bumpers? Reunel design lines are very clean and basic. The shape of the bumpers do vary significantly from the factory, especially at the approach angle improvement at the wheel well. We specifically design for improved ground clearance while maintaining appropriate interior space to house and protect the winch and lights.
  4. Will I retain the factory tow hooks? Please know that Ford and Chevy/GMC trucks will retain the current tow hooks. Reunel has suggested modifications to address Dodge truck tow hooks. If the bumper includes the guard assembly, Reunel will mount "J" type tow hooks on the upper right of the grill guard.
  5. Will I retain my factory (OEM) fog lights? Reunel does build custom light holes for Ford and Dodge OEM lights; however, Reunel does not offer accommodation for the rectangular Chevy Fog Lights. Other light holes available include cut outs in the face of the bumper for PIAA 2100 fog lights, or shrouds/canisters in the wing of the bumper for PIAA 520s.
  6. Can I have the bumper painted to match my truck? Reunel front bumpers are custom painted any color at no additional charge. Please note that Reunel uses the best quality DuPont Automotive finish paint available, and every bumper is finished with personal pride and workmanship. Because the painted finish is subject to eventual chipping and rust, Reunel does not guarantee the painted finish after the bumper leaves the manufacturing plant.
  7. Can I have diamond aluminum on my bumper? Diamond aluminum deck plate is available as cosmetic and skid protection on the top of the bumpers for an addition charge. Several photos in the Web photo gallery show this option.
  8. What is the price range for a Reunel front Winch bumper? An Extreme Heavy Duty front winch bumper for your truck will vary from $1500 to $2500 depending on the options you instruct Reunel to incorporate in your bumper. Please review a suggested list of options.
  9. How will the bumper be shipped? All Reunel products are shipped freight collect, and Reunel has negotiated a 72% tariff discount with Yellow Fast Freight, and the end customer will pay the trucking company on delivery of the bumper. Reunel will crate and arrange the shipping, working with the end customer to locate the best shipping price available.
  10. If I need to cancel my order, can I get my deposit back? Reunel incurs considerable time and money once an order transaction has been received and placed in production planning. Please know all orders are subject to 50% cancellation fee immediately after order confirmation. The receipt of the deposit or written Purchase Order, if on open account, constitutes the agreement and acknowledgement of the required cancellation fee of 50%. Customers ordering by written purchase order will be invoiced for the 50% cancellation fee. Reunel will retain the authority to either issue a monetary return of those funds received beyond 50% of the original order or an in-store product voucher. Please understand that Reunel will invoice and pursue all costs incurred in the collection of cancellation fees.
  11. What is the production time for building a Reunel Heavy Duty Bumper? Reunel bumpers are individually hand crafted from the best possible steel and materials; as such, our customer’s patience is greatly appreciated regarding the amount of time required to produce a Reunel Heavy Duty Bumper. Each order is built in the order received and is subject to many variables and circumstances that can affect the estimated lead time for delivery. Reunel has been building bumpers for over thirty years and we attempt to apply our collective experience in estimating the time required to complete each product. The recent shortages of steel and escalating energy costs have created an extremely difficult and unique situation. Reunel will make every attempt to ship within a small margin of time given at the original order; however, we appreciate the understanding that these lead times are approximations based on experience, and Reunel customers continue to be outstanding in their support and cooperation. The staff at Reunel will make every attempt to work with each customer in addressing lead time.
